Download & Registration

Glamster is available on both iOS and Android operating systems. To download the app, click on the link that matches your device.

Step 1) Download the Glamster app from your respective stores.

Step 2) Go to the Glamster app, and enter your phone number when prompted.

Step 3) Tap on “Get Started”, and wait to receive a 6 digit One Time Password (OTP).

Step 4) Enter the 6 digit OTP which you have received by SMS, and tap “Verify”,

An OTP is a 6-digit password sent to your mobile phone via SMS when you are attempting to register with your phone number on the Glamster app. If your OTP becomes invalid due to inactivity, you are able to request for OTP to be sent again to your mobile phone.

OTP is an ideal way to validate if a person initiating a registration is the rightful and authorized owner of the Glamster account because the message containing OTP is sent directly to the user trying to register with his/her phone number.

Ensure that you have entered your number correctly, without any trailing zeros.

Also, be sure to select the correct country code from the drop down list.

Our SMS provider is able to send worldwide, so your OTP should arrive within 30 seconds of you entering your number correctly.

Your Wallet

Your wallet is like an account that you would have on any other platform (email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.). With your wallet/account you can send, receive, and hold different crypto assets (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.).

A public key is like your Twitter handle. If someone knows it, they can interact with your account/wallet. It’s okay if someone sees your public key — that’s why it’s public. But the private key allows access to your wallet, and all actions associated with your funds. That means that if someone gets your public key, the only thing they can do concerning your wallet is see the account balance and send it things (lucky you!). If they get your private key, however, then they can access your wallet and steal all of your funds.

A 12-word phrase is generated in conjunction with your private/public key pair. When you submit a 12-word phrase to a wallet software, it interprets the words into representing your private key. You could say that your 12-word phrase is your private key, and not be far from the truth, because it has many of the same properties as your private key, including: 1) It can be submitted to a wallet software to gain access to a specific wallet and 2) It should never be shown to anyone

When you first open your wallet, you will be asked to set a new 6-digit PIN, for all future security.

Its important you do not forget your PIN as it is not recoverable.

When you first set up your wallet, you will be asked to record 12 wallet security words.

You will also be asked to re-type in two random words from the 12 before the wallet is activated, to confirm you have recorded them.

Ensure you enter them carefully, with no additional spaces, or autocorrect to proceed. Make sure to write down each word in the order that it is displayed. We cannot help you with entering or recovering your wallet words. Its important that you protect your wallet words, as they are the keys to your wallet and are not recoverable if lost.

The seed phrase is an advanced security feature that the Glamster wallet uses. The 12-word seed phrase is the backup to all of your crypto assets. It’s absolutely key to store your 12 words securely and to never enter it into a smartphone, computer or other device that can connect to the internet. If someone manages to get a hold of your set of 12 words, they can steal all of your cryptocurrencies.

The seed phrase itself is not encrypted and is a straight and sole source of your keys. Therefore, each user is faced with the necessity to store a copy of their seed phrase securely, so that it can serve as a backup in case of the following:1. Wallet password is lost; 2. Device where wallet is installed is lost; 3. Wallet is not functional

The private keys of the Glamster Wallet are encoded into random words from a dictionary which should be written down. Make sure to write down each word in the order that it is displayed. If your hard drive crashes, you can find the paper with the seed phrase and restore the entire wallet.

Your 12 wallet words provide the unlock key for your wallet. Since the wallet is fully decentralised, only these can recover your wallet.

If you loose the key, you must reset the wallet and start again. If you know the PIN, we recommend that you send all assets to another wallet before performing the next steps, as resetting/deleting the wallet in this way will make your assets unrecoverable.

To start the wallet process again:

1. Tap the Settings icon to access the Settings Menu
2. From the menu, tap Wallet Settings
3. Tap Delete Wallet
4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process.

Once you return to your wallet, you will be prompted to create a new set of words, for an empty wallet.

For those interested in maximum privacy, Glamster offers Secret Chats. This is part of the messaging features which includes a self-destruct timer, which basically gives recipients a limited amount of time to read the message once the recipient has tapped to view the message. This way you can send all types of disappearing content — messages, photos, videos and even files. Secret messages use end-to-end encryption to ensure that its intended recipient only can read a message. Simply click on the lock icon in the message field to activate the feature and choose the time limit.
